Each chapter provides simple insights into the thermodynamics of climate change science; first through an analogous anecdote to Gallagher’s own life — by comparing the function of Earth’s ice caps to the A/C and engine coolant in a Jeep from his time as a student at Louisiana State University. Then, introduces a term coined by Gallagher, Foundational Climatologic Destruction (or F.C.D), which is intended to categorize manmade activities that destroy ecological components necessary to sustaining life — as well as introduces a mathematical model designed to explain the thermal impacts of manmade processes.
