The Hottest Hope-filled Ticket in Town
Online, April 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Presented by Big-D Construction, Dancing For Hope is a night of fun and fancy footwork, featuring some of Utah's most well-known local stars showing off their smooth moves and dazzling costumes—to raise funds for HopeKids and compete for the 2014 champions of Dancing For Hope! Held at Juan Diego High School, 300 E 11800 S, Draper, UT 84020, on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Event format is 6:30 p.m. dessert reception & silent auction followed by 7:30 p.m. show.
Each star will be paired up with a dancing pro, practice a choreographed dance for weeks leading up to the event, then strut their stuff in front of an audience—including a few of our own HopeKids and their families.
Celebrity dancers scheduled to appear (but subject to change) are Nadia Crow (Anchor/Reporter, ABC 4 Utah); Reagan Leadbetter (face of Fresh Market, former Good Things Utah host); Irama Lopez Magill (model, Miss Utah International competitor, and host/executive producer of "Talking Pictures"); Ron McBride aka Coach "Mac" (Utah Football Legend); and Andrew Wittenberg (Anchor/Reporter, KSL).
Emceed by Kim Fischer (Anchor, ABC 4), this year's format will feature a pre-show dessert reception and silent auction, celebrity couples dance competition, and dancing and singing performances.
"It's also about hope," said Kim Fischer, ABC 4 Utah's evening anchor and Dancing For Hope Event Chair. "Every single dance couple is hopeful that they will win; that they will bring home the prized trophy. Just like children and families in the HopeKids program, we want them to look forward to a brighter tomorrow and have something to look forward to."
It's a cause that has everyone pitching in. Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper is the site sponsor and Chick-Fil-A, Paradise Bakery, and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory have agreed to provide dessert. J-U-B Engineers , Little Giant Ladder Systems, and The Advent Group are also sponsors.
Dancing For Hope promises to promote the art of ballroom dance and bring the community together for a hope-filled evening!
General Admission seats are $25 adults, $10 students, $7.50 children (12 and under), and $60 for a family 5-pack (2 adults/3 children). Each ticket includes a dessert reception and silent auction, and star-studded & hope-filled entertainment! Evening of tickets prices increase $5 each. HopeKids provides ongoing events, activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child (ages birth to 18) with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition (i.e., a progressive, degenerative, malignant or any such condition that may jeopardize the child's life).
The Utah HopeKids chapter has 700+ families registered with more than 15,000 event participants annually. Once a family submits an application and the child's medical eligibility is confirmed with the help of the treating physician, families are invited to participate in 15-20 monthly activities, all free of charge.
HopeKids shares messages of love, compassion and hope—while embracing each moment and making a memory—with the 3,500+ family members in the program. Volunteers, staff, and families stand together, pray together, cry together, rejoice together and believe together that the future is indeed full of wonder and life, and look to the future with hope!
From carnivals and princess parties to movie nights and camping trips—HopeKids provides HOPE to families during their child's turbulent medical journey and shows that hope is a powerful medicine!
