The Lepsien Art Foundation received more than 320 highly interesting applications from talented artists from all over the world for the International Grant Program 2012/13.

Traditionally a large number of applications have been received from Europe, where Germany was strongly represented, followed by Spain, Portugal, Greek, Slovakia and Italy.

But also from Non-European countries many applications were handed in from countries like USA, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Iraq, Iran, Israel, China, Russia and Ukraine.

In line with the previous years the Lepsien Art Foundation received many applications from graduates from the well known Art Academy in Dusseldorf (Dusseldorfer Kunstakademie). But also other art universities from other cities in Germany as Karlsruhe, Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin, Munster etc. were strongly represented.

„We are delighted by the constant increase of highly interesting applications from all over the world for our International Grant Program. International applications have always been an important part of the process, however, this time we have been completely surprised by the large number of applications from non-european countries and applications from "new countries" which are part of the process for the first time. This strong interest of talented emerging artists from all over the world gives us the feeling that we are on the right track", Christian Lepsien, Founder and Chairman of the Lepsien Art Foundation is stating. "We will continue this path and further develop our program and support functions for talented artists and drive the constant internationalisation of our organisation forward. Thus more talented artist from all over the world have the chance to get sustainable support and a platform for their work and exchange with other artists. We do congratulate the grant holders for the 2012/13 program and we are looking forward to a fruitful and interesting grant year 2012/13."

The grant program 2012/13 starts in September 2012 and runs until August 2013.
