The Georgia Writers Museum Hosts Local Authors for an Afternoon With "The Book Widows"

Eatonton, GA, February 22, 2016 (Newswire.com) - The Georgia Writers Museum will host four local authors for a luncheon, with book talks, sales and signings. The local authors are Valerie Joan Connors, Susan Jimison, Connie McKee, and Rona Simmons. The four, published by Deeds Publishing, a Georgia-based publisher, have banded together to promote reading among both men and women after finding themselves alone at book talk after book talk, their husbands like other men rarely reading fiction and even more rarely participating in book clubs or attending book talks. They dubbed themselves “The Book Widows”.
On February 27, 2016, The Book Widows will appear at the Georgia Writers Museum from 12 pm to 2 pm to share their outlook on reading and writing in America today. Rona Simmons said “John Gray’s Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus couldn’t be more apropos to reading.” The group will talk about how differently the two sexes read and how to find just the right book to bring the two together.
About The Georgia Writers Museum: Local businessmen and women formed a board to promote the Arts, Tourism, and Heritage of the area, the Eatonton Putnam Tourism Arts Heritage Corp, or EPTAH. This group asked others to form committees to generate ideas to promote the area. Out of those committees, the Briar Patch Arts Council was formed, which in turn created the Georgia Writers Museum.
