The Elder Care Firm Honors National Family Caregivers' Month by Giving Back

Every November, we celebrate National Family Caregivers’ Month. Family caregivers face unique problems, like struggling to keep up at work due to taking time off for a parent, spouse, or other loved one’s doctor’s appointments and hospital visits. They do this all while creating the most comfortable life for their loved ones and managing their financial, property, insurance, legal, and sometimes even business affairs.

It is important for caregivers to not allow themselves to be overworked and overwhelmed and take advantage of the resources available to them. Christopher J. Berry and his team at The Elder Care Firm know that this new phase of life can be much easier with the right team helping you along. Berry wrote the how-to guide for caregivers trying to navigate the complicated world of insurance, estate law, and medical care, The Caregiver's Legal Guide Planning for a Loved One With Chronic Illness: Inside Strategies to Plan for Medicaid, Veterans Benefits and Long-term Care.

"At the firm, we've dedicated ourselves to helping caregivers through the caregiving journey of dedicating themselves to their loved one," says Chris Berry, of The Elder Care Firm. "We try to create legal and financial solutions to support caregivers.  That is why we wrote the Caregiver's Legal Guide."

Berry volunteers his time to host weekly workshops breaking down the fears that caregivers may have about law and money in retirement, and what they can do for their loved ones to protect them. You can learn more and sign up for the next available workshop at MichiganEstatePlanning.com.
