The Educational Social Media Platform Catered to the Sports Community
NEW YORK, August 3, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Duxboard is proud to announce that they have launched a new social media platform that will transform the sports landscape.
Duxboard was born after many years of interviewing professional athletes and vigorously analyzing complex statistical reports regarding athletes’ financial difficulty. According to these reports, 78% of NFL players declared bankruptcy within 2 years following retirement; additionally, 60% NBA players within 5 years and 3 out of 5 Premier League soccer players all suffered this misfortune.
Research showed that the majority of athletes did not have a viable career plan following their professional sports career. They struggle with the transition from the professional to the civil life. In sports psychology, this is referred to as “Tunnel Vision Syndrome,” which means that focus is largely limited to the sports-oriented facets of life and little regard is afforded to future plans. Upon retirement, athletes are faced with real-life financial difficulties without the income or coping skills to properly adjust and appropriately cope.
Governing sports bodies have tried to address and resolve this problem, without much success. At Duxboard, we wanted to create an updated solution that encompasses and utilizes digital tools and trends.
Recent studies show that social media has made a positive impact on education. As many athletes are spending most of their time communicating with their fans over social media, we developed the idea to combine these two tools: education and social media, as a solution to the aforementioned problem. Education should be entertaining and fun. Duxboard integrates social media usage so athletes can tweet from the Duxboard interface platform.
In addition, Duxboard users can take advantage of world- class webinar presentations from Olympic winners, world Champions, CEOs of large-scale enterprises and industry experts.
In cooperation with the EdX on the Duxboard platform, we are able to present users with courses provided by the world’s best educational institutions like Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Oxford and others. Earning degrees or professional certifications is a step toward increasing the chances of success and employment following retirement from the industry.
For the athletes who are talented, but do not have adequate exposure to network with larger sports clubs, we offer the Free Agent Board: a tool through which athletes build an advertisement, upload videos, and photos to showcase their talent and skill set, and we target the management of the related sport to assist the athlete in making the connections they need to foster continued success. Additionally, we provide career guidance and advice regarding nutrition, sports psychology, physical preparation, and multiple life facets that all create the foundation of a successful athlete.
As some of these features are available to prime members only (webinars and consulting), we created an opportunity for each user to earn a free prime membership.
