The Deck Goes Green with Cellar to Glass Wine Experience

California winery and East Providence, RI restaurant partner to bring patrons the best eco-friendly waterfront dinner and drink experience.

- In our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving our beautiful environment, Deck FortyTwo Restaurant & Raw Bar recently partnered with Boisset Family Estates in California to bring you some of California's best wines, produced using a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly system. This new 'DeLoach Barrel-to-Barrel' Cabernet Sauvignon uses a unique technology to deliver an authentic winery cellar experience while dramatically reducing its carbon footprint. It is the first evolution to unite the winery experience directly from cellar to glass, offering the purest expression of wine tasting and grape personality directly from the barrel so you enjoy the same experience as you would in the winery cellar.

The vineyard delivers DeLoach's award-winning wines to our restaurant in an oak barrel. Its fine aromas of bright red jammy fruits and hints of blackberry, dark cherry and tobacco are actually contained in an 'eco-bag' placed inside of the barrel, a process which eliminates corkage, protects against oxidation, and reduces packaging and the carbon footprint, all the while offering the value of an extra liter of wine "up to seven more glasses" for the same cost, a savings which is passed on to our customers. The result is an authentic "Cellar to Glass" taste. By eliminating the need for corks, bottles and labels, this aromatic and full flavored wine uses 99% less packaging than your standard glass wine bottle.

"Rhode Island has worked hard to breathe new life into this delicate, beautiful waterway at which Deck FortyTwo is now located. We feel it is our responsibility to look for ways to contribute to the environment whenever we can," says Barrow. "We see many customers come to our restaurant to enjoy the view and a nice glass of wine. So this match seemed like a perfect way to add to their experience while providing a cost savings. It's a win-win-win!"

Paired wonderfully with a veal chop entree or top sirloin steak dinner, Deck FortyTwo plans to serve this exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon throughout the warmer months.
