Brasilia, Brazil - December 20, 2009 - According to a spokesperson for The Coral Lake and Beach Resort, the Plano Aquarela 2020 was recently announced by the Ministry of Tourism through Embratur, the Brasilian Tourism. The idea behind the Aquarela 2020 Plan is to increase foreign tourists and the inflows of funds by 304% - the equivalent of US$17.6 billion by 2020 by highlighting 5 key areas: Business/Events, Culture, Eco-Tourism, Sporting Events, and Sun and Beach. One of the premier vacation destinations is sure to be The Coral Lake and Beach Resort in NE Brazil.

The Coral Lake and Beach Resort also reported that the Aquarela Plan has been designed to take advantage of the global movement in Brazil since the country were awarded the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016. "We developed profound diagnostics work, based on several researches, which investigated from the image that foreigners have of Brazil and their intention of returning for the World Cup and the Olympic Games, hearing national leaderships in the tourism sector and considering international market studies," said Embratur president Jeanine Pires.

According to the management of The Coral Lake and Beach Resort, Jeanine Pires went on to add, "It was this broad study that was used to establish the Aquarela 2020 Plan and the result is a very high-level technical study to guide the international promotion actions of Brazil in the next decade."

"The planning is very important for the success of public policies in all sectors. For this reason, we have to appreciate the part played by the Aquarela Plan in building a new image for Brazil in the world, which is already seeing the country with other eyes," said Luiz Barretto.

The Coral Lake and Beach Resort expects that official marketing campaigns for Brazil will commence soon after the end of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Brazilian team matches will be followed and marketed through street campaigns and exhibitions in commercial event spaces, at cultural exhibitions as well as through international advertising and public relations in a number of key countries in order to promote Brazil as the principal South American tourism destination to a global audience. The Coral Lake and Beach Resort will join with the citizens of Brazil in welcoming visitors.

The plan established by the Plano Aquarelo 2020 is to expand the number of visitors coming to Brazil by 500,000 tourists a year in the year of the Cup, 2014, and by 15% in 2016, the year of the Olympics, as against the previous year, says The Coral Lake and Beach Resort. "We have left the testing phase, and now work with targets, and we are going to leave a legacy for tourism in the next decade."

The Brazilian Ministry of Tourism will utilize the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016 to leverage huge amounts of exposure, focusing around tourism (to locations such as The Coral Lake and Beach Resort), business, economy and investment in cities and infrastructure in order to improve the image of a world-class tourist destination. Using key data accumulated from previous host countries of major sporting events, such as the Olympics, Paralympic Games and the World Cup, Brazil has established a list of targets to be attained between 2010-2020, reports The Coral Lake and Beach Resort.

• Achieve 113% increase in international tourism, ending with 11.1 million inbound foreign visitors to locations such as The Coral Lake and Beach Resort in NE Brazil.
• Achieve 304% increase in foreign currency derived from foreign tourist spending in destinations like The Coral Lake and Beach Resort within Brazil, bringing in an estimated US$17.6 billion p/a.
• Achieve increases in visitors to Brazil by 500,000 in 2014 (as compared to 2013), when the country hosts the World Cup, and by 15 percent in 2016 (as compared to 2015), when the Olympic Games are held in Rio.

It is a determined Brazil that aims to meet the above targets, but one thing that The Coral Lake and Beach Resort knows, is that when Brazil wants to put a positive foot forward, it tends to set new benchmarks in the process.
