The Assistance Fund Opens New Program for Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy
Financial Assistance From The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy
ORLANDO, Fla., June 14, 2022 (Newswire.com) - The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new financial assistance program for people living with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to CIDP, such as copays, health insurance premiums, therapy administration costs, and treatment-related ground travel costs.
"Individuals and families living with CIDP will likely spend multiple years on much needed treatment to improve their quality of life and maintain their condition," said Lisa Butler, Executive Director of GBS/CIDP Foundation International. Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is a neurological disorder characterized by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the legs and arms.[1] The disorder, which is sometimes called chronic relapsing polyneuropathy, is caused by damage to the myelin sheath of the peripheral nerves.
