The Amigos Band, chosen this year by the U.S. Department of State for the American Music Abroad program, is a collective built on the belief that all strains of American music are branches of the same tree. Their unique style brings together various forms of American music, from bluegrass to jazz, with intricate vocal harmonies and unique delivery. These concerts at Dizzy's, featuring Ranger Doug and Andy Stein, are part of their popular and critically-acclaimed "The Amigos Band Presents" series at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola.

Ranger Doug and Andy Stein played together in the late '60s and have seldom collaborated since. Ranger Doug is best known for his work with Riders in the Sky and the Nashville western swing group the Time Jumpers, with whom he plays acoustic swing guitar and provides virtuoso yodeling. Doug has played a major role in keeping western swing and cowboy music alive for the past 40 years, yet he is rarely in New York City, guaranteeing that this will be a distinctive showcase of an under-represented side of swing in NYC. Violinist Andy Stein is best known as Vince Giordano's right-hand man and is well-versed in everything from New Orleans music to old-time fiddling.
