Texas Tourism Has Launched An Extensive UK Consumer Promotion

The campaign relates to the major themes to trips to the Lone Star State and linking up with key UK consumer brands.

A UK promotional website has been launched this week to educate consumers on the three potential themes for visits to Texas. www.TravelTex.com/ukpromo highlights the fact that there is more to Texas than cowboys, concentrating on culture, music, gastronomy and adventure that is prevailant throughout the state.

The first element of the three stage promotion focuses on the theme of adventure and ranching. Texas Tourism had a double page spread advertorial in BBC Lonely Planet magazine, carried out an in-store plus online promotion with Berghaus, the producer of quality outdoor clothing, plus exhibited at the Outdoor Show.

The second phase of activity focuses on the themes of music, film and culture. Texas Tourism partnered with AOL and had editorial throughout the site.

The third element of the promotional activity was relating to the theme of food and drink. Texas Tourism partnered with Jamie Oliver, with a double page spread advertorial in the Jamie Oliver Magazine, a dedicated Texas page on Jamie Oliver's website which includes Texas themed recipes, plus Facebook and Twitter activity.

All UK marketing attention directs traffic to the new website which is the latest initiative from the UK Texas Tourism team, and will also include competitions where consumers can win a week holiday in Texas.
