Tariq Drabu Encourages Expectant Mothers to Boost Their Vitamin D Intake in 2015

Tariq Drabu is a Manchester born and educated dentist and specialist oral surgeon. He is one of the youngest dentists to ever graduate in the United Kingdom at twenty one years of age and has worked in some of the busiest dental hospitals in the UK and Saudi Arabia. Dr Drabu always showed a keen interest in oral surgery and he received his Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Tariq Drabu said “New research conducted in Japan has revealed new evidence which may help with tooth decay. Vitamin D has been associated with bone deficiencies for years. 1210 Japanese mother and child pairs took place in the tests, which revealed that dental caries was reduced in mothers with a higher Vitamin D level than those with lower levels.”

Tariq Drabu in Manchester went on to say “Information was collected from maternal Vitamin D during pregnancy during a diet history tool. Children underwent an oral examination after thirty six months and was only identified as having caries when one or more teeth showed signs of tooth decay.”

Tariq Drabu closed in saying “The higher the vitamin D intake during pregnancy the less risk children had of dental caries. Maternal nutrition showed as playing a vital role in the health of the children in later life, including tooth formation. Mothers need to bear in mind that teeth start developing in their children while still in the womb, ensuring they take the right vitamins will ensure a healthy child in the future.”
