Taller San Jose Receives $100,000 Gift from Laguna Beach Couple, Sue and Bill Gross
Santa Ana, CA, October 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Local philanthropists Sue and Bill Gross demonstrated their commitment to Taller San Jose again through a $100,000 gift to provide job training and case management services to young adults living in poverty. The Gross family’s $100,000 gift will empower 350 youth from Orange County’s most economically disadvantaged neighborhoods with the skills and support needed to make lasting transformation in their lives.
“With more than 55,000 young adults living in poverty in Orange County, Taller San Jose has a unique opportunity to impact the ability of this population to achieve and maintain economic stability,” said Shawna Smith, Executive Director of Taller San Jose. “We are extremely grateful to be one of the organizations that the Gross family continues to generously support—their gift will help young adults, who are completely disconnected from the workforce and all educational opportunities, develop skills and behaviors valued by today’s employers.”
“Bill and I are proud to continue supporting Taller San Jose in providing second chances to disadvantaged youth in our community,” said Sue Gross, President of the Gross Family Foundation. “After meeting with students from the program, it is clear what an impact the organization is having on many young lives.”
