Tagy Presents A Tag Cloud Interface For Android

Minimax has launched Tagy for Android, a tag cloud user interface concept.

Tagy is a set of widgets that organize apps, contacts, bookmarks and settings into tag clouds on the home screen. Tags will grow or shrink based on click frequency, allowing popular items to stand out and rarely used items to fade.

"Tag cloud metaphor for mobile user interfaces is quite new. Compared to rigid icon grids, it allows to place much more elements (typical number is 60 tags on a 4-inch screen). It also offers insights about your favorite elements, since tags will change color and size based on their click frequency. In this respect it is a handy visual statistics of what content you use most." says Vlad Tar, Minimax founder.

Tagy primarily targets users, who want to:
• Instantly access their content without scrolling or browsing folders;
• Obtain insights about usage patterns by locating infrequently used content such as unused apps or inactive contacts as well as favorite items; and
• Save space - one tag cloud can contain five times more items than a regular icon grid.

Tagy technical specs:
• Android 2.2 and higher;
• Smartphones and tablets support;
• Multiple widget sizes;
• Supports custom launchers and themes.
• Supports portrait and landscape orientation.

Tagy main features:
• Add any number of apps, bookmarks and contacts to the tag cloud;
• Tags show usage statistics by changing their size and color;
• Tags can be renamed;
• Tags color and background can be changed.

Tagy is available for free at Google Play. Some premium features are available with Tagy Unclocker, which is $0.99.
