Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as phenelzine, tranylcypromine, and isocarboxazid are useful medications used to cure social phobia and panic disorders. Anti-anxiety drugs such as clonazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam, buspirone, are the possible medications that a doctor will prescribe to the patient to treat anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or behavioral therapy that requires 12 months which is effective to treat with social phobia. It also consists of taking training from mental health professionals such as psychiatrist, psychologists, or counselor to deal with anxiety disorder.
