Symphony Inspired by Skyrim: Kickstarter for Fantasy Symphony No. 1 "Dragonborn" Album Release

Violinist and composer Julia Okrusko is raising funds to release an original symphony inspired by fantasy video game Skyrim - "Dragonborn: Fantasy Symphony No.1 in D minor".

Award-winning violinist and composer Julia Okrusko is running a Kickstarter campaign to release an original symphony inspired by the fantasy world of Skyrim and the power and missions of Dragonborn. This four-movement symphonic work will create a symphonic portrait of Dragonborn and express external and internal realities of being immersed in the world of fantasy, combining the traditional musical language, forms, and techniques with fantasy elements, themes, sounds, and timing that would be familiar to the flow of the game itself.

The Kickstarter campaign ("Fantasy Symphony No.1, "Dragonborn" - Album Release") will run until November 1st, and the funds will be used for recording, mixing, mastering, design, and digital and physical release. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/okrusko/fantasy-symphony-no1-dragonborn-album-release

Julia Okrusko started composing fantasy music in 2011, after performing with Video Game Orchestra at Boston Symphony Hall. After 20 years of pursuing a classical music career in violin performance, she was inspired by film and video game soundtracks, and began writing her own fantasy music for violin, symphony orchestra, and choir, soundtracks and arrangements for film, games, and concerts. Her music was featured at FantasyCon in Salt Lake City, Utah, and performed live by Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra and New World Chorale. As a member of the New England String Quartet, Julia has recorded soundtracks for Lord of the Rings and Dungeons & Dragons online video games (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment). Julia has performed in Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Turkey as a soloist and member of chamber ensembles.
