Support the People of Chennai Through Their Crowd Funding Campaign

new york, united state, December 21, 2015 (Newswire.com) - In an effort to launch an emergency response to help the people of Chennai, the Humans of Bihar have initiated a Generosity campaign, a crowd funding source by IndieGoGo, in an effort to help find some relief for those affected by the floods.

The worst rains in nearly 100 years have caused heavy flooding to various parts of Tamil Nadu and people all over the area have been struggling to get basic resources such as clean drinking water, food, shelter and sanitation supplies. Approximately 120 villages are affected which translates to about 45,000 people being left without these resources.

“The people in Tamil Nadu have lost a lot in the floods and now they’re facing a shortage of food and clean drinking water,” states RaydaEttinger, a representative for the Humans of Bihar. “The risk of this crisis is escalating rapidly and the time to act is now.”

The Generosity campaign breaks down allocations of funds for the $10,000 goal – one that may seem small in comparison to the urgency the campaign reflects. Funds from the campaign will go towards various things such as emergency shelter assistance, emergency latrines, food security, solar lamps, blankets, and more for varying family sizes.

As contributions for the campaign come in, donations will help provide vital relief to children, families, and all others devastated by these unexpected floods.
