SuchFlex Becoming the "Distributed AirBnB of Computing"

Logo

SuchFlex, an Alchemist Accelerator funded startup, is exiting its private beta and publicly announcing the launch of the Distributed Computing Desktop App on August 1st, 2016.

With 3,000 existing users already contributing processing power using SuchFlex, the SuchFlex Distributed Computing Desktop App will allow anyone to share their computing resources and get paid for doing so. SuchFlex creates a computing resources marketplace with “vendors” on one side (you and me) contributing computing resources of laptops and PCs, and “corporate subscribers” on the other paying for those computing resources.

Distributed computing is this huge untapped opportunity. From our analysis, if you add up all the unused computing resources everyone has at their fingertips (laptops, PCs, smartphones), it's 3-4 times the size of all current cloud computing services sold around the world. By launching SuchFlex, we are unleashing that hidden potential in everyone's hands and really democratizing Computing from where it is today.

According to Co-Founder and CEO, Ivan Zone, “Distributed computing is this huge untapped opportunity. From our analysis, if you add up all the unused computing resources everyone has at their fingertips (laptops, PCs, smartphones), it’s 3-4 times the size of all current cloud computing services sold around the world. By launching SuchFlex, we are unleashing that hidden potential in everyone’s hands and really democratizing Computing from where it is today.”

SuchFlex’s first go-to-market desktop app is able to monetize users’ resources by utilizing various blockchain technologies. To use SuchFlex, users download the desktop app to their computer, and make the choice of sharing their CPU, GPU and hard-drive storage with the SuchFlex platform. At the end of each week, users can choose to redeem to US Dollars or Bitcoin through PayPal, Coinbase and other 3rd party payment processors.

Co-Founder and CTO John Heeter, who is a Designer and a Programmer with a background in the gaming industry, previously worked at a gaming company in Baltimore, MD. John supplemented his income by mining various off-the-radar altcoins with over a dozen machines (laptops and PCs). This hobby eventually morphed into the first prototype for the SuchFlex Desktop App.

“At the moment, those with the most powerful gaming PCs will see the most immediate monetary benefit from our Platform,” Heeter explained.

SuchFlex is currently located in the Bay Area and was started in Washington, DC in the Spring of 2016. The founders are long-time friends, very much obsessed with the idea of making Distributed Computing available to everyone.
