Subaru of Pembroke Pines Teams Up With the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the Third Consecutive Year to Spread Love, Hope, and Warmth to Cancer Patients and Their Families
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla., August 7, 2018 (Newswire.com) - For the third consecutive year, Subaru of Pembroke Pines (SPP) owned and operated by Craig and Martine Zinn, and the Craig Zinn Automotive Group (CZAG), has once again teamed up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Southern Florida Chapter (LLS) to spread love, hope, and warmth to cancer patients and their families in Broward County communities.
Over the past two years, Subaru Loves to Care, the health-focused initiative of Subaru of America, Inc.’s the Subaru Love Promise philanthropic platform has enabled LLS and Subaru to deliver blankets, messages of hope and arts and crafts kits to 70,000 patients in more than 400 hospitals through 475 Subaru retailers. With the goal of donating more simple comforts to more patients year after year, Subaru and LLS set out to achieve a new record during the 2018 Subaru Loves to Care initiative, which kicked off in June.
Throughout June and July, Subaru of Pembroke Pines and LLS brought the Subaru Loves to Care initiative to life in Southern Florida. Subaru retailer employees and customers had the opportunity to write personalized notes of hope to cancer patients in their local communities, whether by visiting the Dealership or online at www.lls.org/subaru. Those who wrote an inspiring message of hope at the Subaru of Pembroke Pines retailer received a reusable LLS branded tote bag to help spread awareness of the organization’s mission and the automaker’s goal to provide hope and care, one gesture at a time.
We are happy to once again work with our valued community partner, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Southern Florida Chapter. Through the Subaru 'Loves to Care' health-focused initiative we can continue to support patients and their families battling cancer, and together help improve the well-being of our local communities.
Once the messages were all collected, a crew of volunteer representatives from both Subaru of Pembroke and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Southern Florida Chapter united and visited Memorial Hospital West’s Memorial Cancer Institute in Pembroke Pines where they hand delivered blankets spreading love, hope, and warmth to patients who are currently battling cancer and their families. Included with the blanket delivery were “Here to Help” cards from LLS which explain the organization’s mission and avenues of support via travel and co-pay assistance. LLS works with patients and caregivers through many support groups and means of financial aid throughout their journey.
“Through Subaru’s ‘Loves to Care' we were able to invite our employees and customers to join our Dealership in giving back, and together express how much we care about our hometown charity partners and the patients they serve,” said Duane Massa, General Sales Manager at Subaru of Pembroke Pines.
These donations were all made possible through the generosity of the Subaru of Pembroke Pines' customers, employees, and the leadership team led by Craig and Martine Zinn, in the hopes of providing patients with relief and warmth – literally and figuratively as they continue their fight against the dreadful disease.
“Our organization is humbled by the support of this extraordinary event. Patients and caregivers receive uplifting messages and comforting blankets to wrap themselves in the support provided by both Subaru of Pembroke Pines Family and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are working together to find a cure and provide critical patient care,” said DeAnn Hazey, Executive Director for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Southern Florida Chapter.
