StrategicFusion cure puts Savience ahead of the competition

New brand highlights how healthcare software specialist 'smoothes the journey' for patients

Healthcare IT specialist, Savience (www.savience.com) has unveiled its new brand and product portfolio, created by strategic brand, marketing and communications advisor, StrategicFusion (www.strategic-fusion.com). The move unifies the company's existing service modules and will ensure that it remains a market leader in its developing sector.

Savience develops and implements IT systems designed to make healthcare visits as stress-free as possible. Having successfully supplied many hundreds of GP surgeries and dental surgeries in the UK, the company has broadened its reach to target hospitals and NHS Trusts. This move demanded a strong brand to communicate the company's innovation, credibility, capability and commitment to patient care and StrategicFusion was selected to execute this requirement.

Savience technology enables patients to check themselves in for their medical appointment via Savience Check-in touch-screens, which also provide a personalised print-out of the building plan to help them find their way to their appointment. A central management system ensures that staff know where a patient is at any given time and can therefore oversee the complete visit, which often includes checks such as X-rays and blood tests prior to their main appointment.

At each stage, Savience Patient Call can alert patients via an LCD screen when it is time for them to be seen. Missed and late appointments are instantly flagged to relevant consultants and departments, who can redeploy their resources. Neither hospital staff nor patients need wait unnecessarily, so overall efficiency is increased.

StrategicFusion undertook its 'Envisage, Enhance, Engage' programme to define the brand strategy and product nomenclature. The initial step was a strategic brand review, informed by in-depth research with both the Savience team and its key customers, as well as competitive analysis. Building on the findings, StrategicFusion created a set of brand fundamentals, brand identity, visual language and strapline 'smoothing the journey'.

StrategicFusion worked with the company on the product naming structure. The objective was to create a cohesive, meaningful and authoritative set of new names and devise a product architecture for the portfolio that clearly positioned each product group under the Savience 'family' brand.

StrategicFusion ensured the Savience 'look and feel' was constantly applied universally throughout its marketing collateral, stationery and the website. In addition, to deliver a further level of consistency and brand clarity, StrategicFusion designed the software icons and user interfaces used by both patients and hospital staff.

Roger Everitt, managing director at Savience, explains: "Building a powerful brand is essential to ensure that we reflect our capability and retain our lead in the market. StrategicFusion demonstrated a clear vision and were able to understand the core of our business and translate this knowledge into a clear, creative and insightful brand proposition."

Stephen Rogers, managing director at StrategicFusion, confirms: "Savience has been adept at developing innovative, customer-focused offerings that have the potential to transform the patient experience when visiting the doctor, dentist or NHS hospital outpatients' department. But having invested significantly in getting the technology right, it also recognised the importance of creating a strong, credible and robust brand that would actively help to drive and grow its business."
