Stayhealthy Installs Self-monitoring HealthCENTERs Across Albertson's LLC and New Albertson's Family of Pharmacies
Online, April 15, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Stayhealthy, Inc. announced the completion of its deployment of 765 Stayhealthy® HealthCENTER Kiosks™ throughout Albertson's LLC (Albertsons) and New Albertson's Inc. (NAI) chains of supermarkets and pharmacies. New Albertson's Inc. operates Jewel-Osco, Acme Markets, Shaw's, and Star Markets. Stayhealthy's FDA-cleared, self-monitoring HealthCENTERs provide convenient, clinical-grade health screenings free of charge to check blood pressure, heart rate, total body composition (percent lean mass, percent body fat, and hydration index), total body weight/BMI, and vision (color blindness). The HealthCENTERs also support the uploading of readings taken from personal blood glucose meters, enabling meaningful trending of blood glucose levels over time and allowing users to share their results with their local pharmacist or physician if they so choose.
Albertsons and NAI customers who register at a HealthCENTER with their own unique user ID and password will have the added benefit of tracking and trending their personal screening results over time in their own Stayhealthy® electronic Personalized Health and Fitness Record™ which is accessible from any internet-connected computer or mobile device.
"Both Stayhealthy and Albertsons share in the desire to deliver health and wellness initiatives aimed at improving the health of individuals between visits with our pharmacists and their regularly scheduled visits with their doctors. This unique and valuable tool will enable our customers to monitor and track their biometric health screening results with much more accuracy and detail than they're able to do at home," stated Dan Salemi, president of NAI's pharmacy operations. "Stayhealthy was selected because of their clinical expertise and reputation for delivering high-quality, clinical-grade health solutions and wellness services."
"Stayhealthy is very pleased to partner with Albertson's, which has demonstrated their commitment to supporting valuable health improvement programs within their communities," stated Tommy Thompson, former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, former Governor of Wisconsin, and current chairman of Stayhealthy. "This partnership will provide access to free health monitoring to millions of Americans. This retailer, like many across the nation, are providing citizens with an invaluable service, which will go a long way towards shifting the tide we currently see with rising chronic illnesses across the country."
"Stayhealthy, like Albertson's, is committed to providing convenient access to health assessments, which allow individuals to accurately measure, monitor, and improve overall well-being whether at work, at home, or on the run. Albertson's decision to place HealthCENTERs in their stores shows their commitment to customer wellness, at a time when access to affordable healthcare remains a challenge for a large portion of the population," stated John Collins, chief executive officer, of Stayhealthy, Inc. "The ability for users to record assessments free of charge at their local market and both record assessments and access historical biometric data from any internet connected device is a blueprint for the future of healthcare in this country."
The publicly accessible free of charge HealthCENTERs in Albertson's LLC and New Albertson's Inc. are part of an ever expanding community network of over 3,500 access points for individuals to conduct and if desired upload biometric assessments. The online network is currently performing an average of 2.5 million tests per month, a statistic which has been on the rise and is predicted to reach 3 million tests per month sometime this summer.
