STAGE ONE Home Showcasing Relocates To Sarasota, Florida

Carol Myers Works with Realtors and Home Sellers to Prepare Homes for a Quicker, More Profitable Sale

Carol Myers, home stager and owner of STAGE ONE Home Showcasing, has relocated her business from White Plains, New York, to Sarasota, Florida. She works with Realtors and their clients, as well as directly with home owners, before they list a home, to prepare the home for a quicker and more profitable sale.

"Home staging creates a setting in which buyers can see themselves living," Myers says. "The purpose of home staging is to present the house in a light that will draw in potential buyers. You only have a few seconds while the buyer's mind is still open to make a good first impression and show the buyer what the home has to offer."

Her services also extend to the exterior of the home. "The approach to the home is most likely the first thing a potential buyer sees," Myers says. "It can be a determining factor as to whether or not the buyer is interested in seeing the inside of the home.”

Myers became a home stager long before most people on the East Coast knew what it was, conducting business in New York for 12 years. She credits her gift for home staging on being raised in a creative family, enveloped in music and artistic design. She grew up helping her father at trade shows for his department store window display business in New York City.  "It must have been through osmosis that I developed a sense of balance and what shows well," she recalls.

Myers herself is multi-talented and studied opera at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She went on to teach music and voice for 35 years in the White Plains school system, where she took charge of decorating the stage for school holiday concerts and plays that she wrote and directed.

A member of the Women's Council of Realtors and the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee, she stays informed on the housing market on a regular basis, and studies what sells, what doesn’t and why.

Her down-to-earth approach and innate people skills are appreciated by clients, who are going through one of life's most stressful periods, the selling of a home. "I don't come in like a prima donna, snap my fingers and tell them what to do," she says. "I treat clients with the respect and understanding that I would like if I were in their situation. I realize that very often it is uncomfortable for clients to live with the changes that might be needed in their home, and while the staging process is going on, I try to keep their life as normal as possible."

Myers has three fee structures, from consulting to full service. She works with a team of movers, carpenters, painters, electricians and other subcontractors if needed, but will accommodate the clients' preferred subcontractors if they have any.

"My job is to get my client's house ready for sale, for the best price, in the shortest amount of time," she says. Myers can be reached at (914) 282-9137 or cjmremi@gmail.com. Website: Stageonehomeshowcasing.wordpress.com.
