Spectrm Report Finds 69% of Consumers More Likely to Buy From a Brand if WhatsApp Business Messaging Available

Spectrm, the conversational marketing platform businesses use to automate one-to-one conversations with consumers on messaging channels, has released the findings from their State of WhatsApp Business Messaging report. 

The report surveyed 2,700 consumers from North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia who have used WhatsApp to communicate with a brand. The goal of the research was to better understand their interactions with brands through the messaging platform, their experiences, frustrations, perceptions of brands, purchase behavior, and improvements brands can make in their communications. The report dives into WhatsApp user preferences in various geographical regions to help marketers more deeply appreciate how the channel performs depending on where consumers reside. 

Commenting on the findings, Max Koziolek, CEO of Spectrm, said: "Marketers are finding it increasingly challenging to engage customers through traditional channels. News feeds are too cluttered, inboxes are too packed, and too much competition makes trying to get a customer's attention difficult. Our findings confirm that marketers looking for new customers in new channels should not only explore WhatsApp Business if they haven't already, but also highlights what marketers can improve on to capture their audience through personalized, one-to-one communications." 

Key Findings:

  • 69% of respondents are more likely to buy from a brand if there's a WhatsApp option available.
  • 57% regularly communicate with a brand on WhatsApp. 
  • 70% say messaging has positively impacted their perception of the company. 
  • 64% are likely to spend more if they can communicate on WhatsApp. 
  • 73% said their negative experience led them to not buy from a company and 56% have abandoned a purchase because a company was too slow to respond to their inquiry.
