Southwest Airlines, TGI Fridays, Other Leading Global Companies to Send Learning Leaders to January Chief Learning Officer Exchange in Dallas

Chief Learning Officers to Talk Innovations in Employee Learning

According to a survey conducted by Training Industry, in 2016, 75 percent of employees invested their own money in career development and 69 percent of workers asked a boss or mentor for direction to learn something new — a clear indication of a workforce eager to learn.

As part of their continuous efforts to improve the ways employees can grow and develop, leading companies, including Southwest Airlines, TGI Fridays and others, are sending their top learning executives to the Chief Learning Officer Exchange: One-Day in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 25, 2018, to discuss the latest in digital learning platforms, optimized employee training and leadership methods.

The annual event brings together corporate learning executives from Fortune 1000 companies to discuss the latest innovations in learning, hear from thought leaders and find solutions to pressing issues.

Elizabeth Bryant, vice president of Southwest Airlines University (SWA University), will deliver the event’s opening remarks, discussing how they are using innovation to connect learning to business initiatives. The session will showcase SWA University’s state-of-the-art facility and how it’s allowing employees to train in a realistic setting, preparing them to deliver an optimal customer experience.

Later in the day, Jim Mason, TGI Fridays’ director of Learning and Development, will lead a roundtable discussion called “Telling the Data Story.” During the session, Mason and other learning leaders with share their experiences telling the story of learning using data, and overcoming the challenge of telling that story in a convincing way that motivates business decisions.

Other roundtable discussions and speaking sessions on a variety of topics, including millennial engagement, digital learning innovations and frontline career progression, will also be taking place at the one-day Exchange, led by learning leaders from other global companies.
