On May 19th, Bethany will be there to guide Brad in the run, connecting the two by a rope, and plans to help Brad in the paddle portion of the "Trident" as she paddles next to him with one arm, directing him when waves are approaching, where the buoys are and when he is approaching the finish line back at the beach. Bethany will also be doing a meet and greet at a showing of her movie "Soul Surfer," as well as leading world record attempts at the most people on a beach doing yoga at the same time and the most people running on a beach at the same time amid other goings on at this fitness and inspiration event expo to be held this May 17-19. It's the largest beach race in the world! We had over 7,000 contestants last year and 10,000 are expected to be there this year!

Bethany Hamilton + Brad Snyder = Never Quit!

Bethany Hamilton has become a source of inspiration to millions through the story of her faith, determination, and hope. Bethany began surfing at the young age of eight, in Kauai, Hawaii, and as most of America knows, was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off Kauai's North Shore. Lifeguards and doctors believe her strong water sense and faith helped get her through the traumatic ordeal. Miraculously, just one month after the attack, she returned to the water to continue pursuing her goal to become a professional surfer. Bethany realized her dream in 2007 and turned pro, competing around the world, and continues to spread her message of inspiration and overcoming all odds everywhere she goes.

In September 2011, Brad Snyder, former captain of his Naval Academy swim team was leading a patrol in Afghanistan on a life-saving mission to find and disarm improvised explosive devices placed by Taliban militants. As Snyder's team moved through farmland, a mine went off injuring two allied Afghan fighters at the front of their column. When Snyder rushed to their aid, he stepped on a second mine, setting off another explosion, and the resulting injuries left him blind. Brad Snyder had no plans of playing victim. Weeks after losing his eyesight, Brad was back to running and swimming, and on September 7, 2012, Snyder got back in the swimming pool in search of a gold medal in the London Paralympics and got it.

A perfect team with a true NEVER QUIT spirit!
