Plantation, FL, January 11, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Embracing the holiday season of giving, Solstice Benefits, Inc. (Solstice) employees participated in a companywide toy drive for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County (BGCBC). The BGCBC is the fifth largest in the national Boys and Girls Clubs of America organization, with 12 facilities throughout the county serving a membership of more than 12,000 youth ranging from 6 to 18 years old.
On Dec. 9, 2015, Solstice employees personally delivered the toys to the BGCBC Lauderhill location.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward provide invaluable services and support to at-risk youth. We hope that the toys donated by our employees brightened the holiday season for many.

The BGCBC aims to improve members’ lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during their critical period of growth. Youth services and programs include education, social recreation, health and physical education, leadership and citizenship development, cultural enrichment and personal adjustment with one-on-one counseling.
A few facts about the population served by BGCBC:
- 55 percent of member families earn less than $20,000 annually;
- 81 percent of members qualified for free or reduced lunch;
- 97 percent of BGCBC members progressed to the next grade level;
- 330 high school members spent 19,260 hours on volunteer community projects.
