Smart Strands Makes Its Industry Debut Offering High Quality LED Holiday Lighting at Competitive Pricing

According to San Francisco´s utility company, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), operating 300 C6 LED lights for 5 hours a day for 45 days, will cost approximately $0.43 for the entire time. Alternatively, 300 mini incandescent lights for the same time would cost $4.50 in energy. According to the PG&E figures, with nationwide holiday light sales amounting to more than 100 million light strands in 2009, the energy bill with LEDs vs. incandescent lights would be the following:

Approximately $45 billion in energy costs - using all incandescent lights

In addition to saving billions in energy costs, LED holiday light strands produce almost no heat, are cool to the touch and greatly decrease the risk of fire hazards compared to the traditional incandescent strands. With proper use, LED strands may last multiple seasons compared to incandescent strands with filaments that break or burn out after as little as one season.
