Simply Shania Tribute Thanks Shania Twain in Las Vegas
Jupiter, FL, October 27, 2014 (Newswire.com) - On October 15th, at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Valerie Nasko of Simply Shania finally got to fulfill her mother's dream of sharing the stage with Shania Twain, the icon that she had been emulating since 1999.
During the second costume series of songs Shania invited Valerie to join her up on stage so that everyone could see what she was wearing. Valerie was dressed like Shania, in a hot pink plaid Western-style shirt and hot pink cowgirl boots. It was the magic moment that Valerie had envisioned for so many years. “I always wanted to thank Shania Twain for her talent and music which made Simply Shania possible”, Valerie said. The tribute band Simply Shania was established by Valerie and Buddy Nasko, a husband-and-wife team of over 30 years. It was Buddy, also the bassist of the band, who came up with the idea which turned out to be quite a success. Valerie stated, “Performing in a tribute to Shania gave us so many opportunities, priceless acquaintances and countless memories that we will cherish forever and for always.”
Simply Shania highlights include multiple international performances for U.S. military troops stationed in Japan, South Korea, Kosovo and Macedonia. The band was an opening act for country music greats George Jones and Tanya Tucker, and a local favorite at fairs, festivals and concert series in the NJ tri-state area before the couple moved to South Florida.
Valerie’s mother, Arlene Tolerico, passed away in 2010, so Valerie won’t be able to share this accomplishment with her, but Valerie is convinced that it was her mother's passion for life that encouraged her to never give up on achieving this goal.
Shania’s Las Vegas show exceeded all of Valerie’s expectations. She stated, “Shania rightfully shined with self-esteem and grace while genuinely connecting with her fans throughout the performance. She was amazing and the production is a must-see show! I’m so thankful that I finally made it to The Colosseum and was able to deliver my message of gratitude to Shania.”
