Shoreview, MN Chiropractor, Dr Douglas Yost, Provides Natural Relief For Low Back Pain
Online, October 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - 31 millions Americans experience low back pain at any given time. Back pain is one of the most common reasons for missed work and the second most common reason for visits to the doctor's office. Americans spend more than $50 billion each year on back pain.
New Research shows that spinal manipulation - the primary form of care provided by doctors of chiropractic - may be an effective treatment option for mechanical low back pain.
The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics in a March 2004 study found that chiropractic care is a more effective treatment than medical care at treating chronic low back pain in people experiencing symptoms for one year or less. Also in October 2005 the same publication found chiropractic care showed higher pain relief and patient satisfaction than medical care for low back pain.
"Chiropractic can be a very effective tool for reducing low back pain and combined with prevention techniques can be one of the best," says Dr Douglas Yost.
