Shopee Malaysia Goes Pink for October!

Shopee, one of Malaysia's leading mobile marketplaces, is joining forces with Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) for a "Pink Campaign" this month. Throughout October, the mobile platform is planning exciting initiatives supporting BCWA to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Shopee Malaysia will be helping BCWA create a shop front on Shopee to sell their merchandizes for fund raising and raise awareness for their cause through a wider customer base. To further support the cause, Shopee Malaysia has created a dedicated collection page called “BCWA Charity Bazaar” to encourage its entire user base to post their items up for sale where all proceeds collected are donated to BCWA.  These items will go on sale from 12th October and users will then be able to purchase these items, from clothing to accessories, shoes and other items posted.

Ian Ho, Regional Managing Director says, “Shopee is honoured to work alongside BCWA to raise awareness on the values of early detection, education and intervention. By giving BCWA and our user base an easy way to sell and raise funds, we sincerely hope that people are able to help, donate and spread the word about breast cancer awareness in a seamless way.” During the course of the “Pink Campaign”, the whole Shopee Malaysia Team will also dress up in pink to raise awareness on breast cancer today.

We are glad that Shopee has come on board to help us raise awareness on breast cancer and to fundraise for BCWA. We hope that more women, especially the younger generation, would be more aware of the importance of early detection through the campaign. We value the initiative and look forward to a successful campaign with Shopee.

Users can also donate RM 1 by simply liking the Facebook post on Shopee Malaysia’s Facebook Page. Shopee Malaysia has pledged to raise fund based on the number of likes on that particular post and will be fulfilled in November 2015.

Donation will be used to help fund BCWA activities including providing information, psychological support and practical advise to breast cancer survivors and their families, and public education and training on early detection and treatment of breast cancer and related breast health issues.
