University offers full fee scholarship for the MSc. Information Systems Security course to the winner

New Delhi, March 11th, 2014: Sheffield Hallam University, one of the UK's largest universities, has formally announced its 'Capture the Hacker' competition in separate events organised in Bangalore and Delhi. The winner of this competition will be awarded a full-fee scholarship to study the MSc Information Systems Security course at the university campus in the UK in September 2014.

The events, that took place at the Christ University in Bangalore and The Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, were attended by approximately 190 students while 43 students attended the workshops following the public lecture on The Changing Face of Malicious Hacking by Neil Richardson, Course Leader, MSc Information Systems Security.

Stephen Lofthouse, Course leader, MSc Big Data Analytics, Sheffield Hallam University, said, "Cyber security is an expanding field and the events in Bangalore and Delhi were a great opportunity to show students a snapshot of how hackers access computer systems and how companies are taking steps to protect themselves from cyber attacks.

"It's important to highlight different types of hacks, what they look like and why they happen. In the coming years, business and organisations across the world will need more and more professionals who can keep information secure from hackers. At Sheffield Hallam, we are already training our students to meet this demand. The hacking competition will consist of two stages. The short-listed candidates from stage one will be interviewed by a team from Sheffield Hallam University and the winner of the same shall be announced in May 2014. The last date for the students to participate is March 21st 2014.
