New Delhi, June 27, 2014: Sheffield Hallam University, one of the UK's largest universities, today announces Aditya Damodaran as the winner of its 'Capture the Hacker', an ethical computer hacking competition that was launched sometime in March 2014 in two separate events held in Bangalore and Delhi. The winner will now get a full-fee scholarship to study MSc. Information Systems Security course at the university campus in the UK in the September 2014 session.

The masters course in Information Systems Security at Sheffield Hallam University is one of its kind in the world to include BSI accredited ISO27001 lead auditor certification. Among the modules which Aditya will study are information security management, ethical hacking, system hardening and computer forensics. He will also benefit from the university's strong ties with the industry and guest speakers including computing experts from Mozilla and Blackberry.

The 22-year-old Damodaran attended one of the series of workshops and lectures held which demonstrated the skills required to become an ethical computer hacker. He then entered the competition which involved analysing a series of data streams to identify any security breaches - an imitation of how computer security experts work to protect systems from computer hackers.

While sharing his experience and excitement, Aditya Damodaran, who has recently completed his studies in B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering from Christ University, Bangalore said: "I felt elated to hear that my application for the competition was successful. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about a branch of computer science that I find very interesting."

Sheffield Hallam University has a range of scholarships and bursaries. Applicants in India can still apply for the Transform Together scholarships until 31 July 2014.
