Security Integrations to Begin Offering the Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System for Workplaces

Security Integrations recently acquired the right to sell the Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System as one of their product offerings.

Security Integrations, founded in New York’s Capital Region, provides a suite of integrated security products to promote safe and secure workplaces. The company recently acquired the rights to sell the Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System, the newly developed technology by Shooter Detection Systems, LLC located in Rowley, Massachusetts.

The Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System is the first stand-alone, smart sensor for indoor active shooter events. The technology incorporates the world’s finest acoustic gunshot identification software with infrared camera gunfire flash detection. The system provides the highest rate of detection while eliminating potential false alerts.

"Seconds matter in determining a person's safety during an indoor active shooter situation."

Joseph Masciocco, president of Security Integrations

The technology also removes human error so nothing is left to interpretation. When a gun is fired, there is both an infrared flash and an acoustic sound. The Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System uses wall devices embedded with tiny microphones that both see the flash and hear the shot. The customizable software embedded in the technology monitors the sensors and provides an instantaneous detection of a gunshot (1 second). It then sends a signal with a map of the exact location of the shot fired and can possibly track the moving location of the shooter, automating emergency response time for law enforcement, on-site security, school administrators or company managers. The resulting notification is more than 100 times faster than the typical call to 911.

An alert is also sent by SMS texts and emails to the building’s occupants so they are able to know where the shooter is at the time of the event. This allows people to make immediate decisions in real time to take the best course of action available to them to remain safe and secure.

“Seconds matter in determining a person’s safety during an indoor active shooter situation,” says Joseph Masciocco, president of Security Integrations. “This technology allows us to provide our current and prospective customers the most capable indoor gunshot detection system available today, working to keep their customers and employees safer during an active shooter event.”

The Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System can be installed into existing building infrastructure through a flush wall-mount configuration or in a ceiling structure and is fully scalable to the desired coverage area. In addition, it was designed to be compatible with a current security system, closed circuit surveillance cameras, and automated alerting systems.

“This new shooter detection system is extremely reliable, simple to install, and easy to use. The safety and security of our customers is of the utmost importance to us, and this is a solution that gives an immediate notification of a shooting event automatically without being complex to manage and operate,” adds Masciocco.

The Guardian Indoor Shooter Detection System has already been installed in workplaces as well as more than 20 schools. Security Integrations is making this available to customers in western Massachusetts, Vermont, northern Pennsylvania, and upstate New York. For more information, visit SecurityIntegrations.com.
