Securities America Adds Anderson to Executive Leadership

As a part of its strategy to infuse fresh talent in the organization, Securities America has appointed Mike Anderson to the new position of first vice president of financial institutions and business growth.

LA VISTA, Neb. - Securities America has hired Mike Anderson to the new position of first vice president of financial institutions and business growth.

In this position, Anderson will provide senior management leadership of Securities America's financial institutions division serving banks and credit unions. Anderson also will assist with relationship management, business growth, and mergers and acquisitions.

"I worked with one of the private equity firms interested in purchasing Securities America," Anderson said. "Although my group was not the buyer, the experience gave me a thorough understanding of Securities America's culture and their value to independent advisors. I was so impressed that when the opportunity to lead the financial institutions division became available, I knew I wanted to join the company."

A former president of Accutrade and Ameritrade Inc., Anderson joins the company with more than 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Securities America, he was vice president of development and executive coach for Leadership Resources, a management development company. While president of Ameritrade Inc., he directed a fast-paced environment, employed changing technologies, expanded facilities and with a staff of 1,200, grew accounts from 98,000 to 641,000 in 18 months. Anderson also was the founding vice president of Ameritrade Advisor Services.

"We are extremely excited to have Mike join the Securities America team," said Jim Nagengast, Securities America's president and CEO. "Mike's tremendous experience in the industry, diverse background and successful track record will make him a key player in the ongoing growth of the company."

Following his 10 years with Ameritrade Holding Corporation, Anderson was president of InfoUSA, a direct mail marketing list manufacturer, and a principal at Charter Hill Partners, a regional mergers and acquisitions firm. Anderson has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Iowa State University.
