Second Annual High Five Tour to Visit All 50 State Capitals
Online, June 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Colonel John Folsom, USMCR (retired) will begin a thirty day tour across the country next Wednesday, June 22 to remind Americans that "When America Goes to War, Our Families Go to War," and to raise funds and awareness for the mission of his 501(c)(3) organization, Wounded Warriors Family Support. The mission of Wounded Warriors Family Support is to provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations.
Colonel Folsom will visit all 50 state capital cities and Washington, DC in a drive/fly journey June 22 to July 21, 2011. The vehicle for his continental portion will be a 2011 Shelby Mustang GT-500 - a vehicle chosen because it represents America's indomitable spirit of freedom, like the mustangs of our untamed west. The tour is proud to count as supporters Denny's, Rudolph Foods and Ford dealerships that have graciously and generously donated to Wounded Warriors Family Support and its mission.
The iconic Shelby Mustang will be auctioned by Mecum Auctions at the Kissimmee, Florida event this January 2012. Proceeds from the auction will go to Wounded Warriors Family Support.
Colonel Folsom will seek to meet as many people as possible to make them aware of what Wounded Warriors Family Support offers: free restorative retreats for the families of those wounded or killed in combat, providing them with the help they need to cope with the psychological and spiritual stress on their relationships that can tear families apart. See the stories of some of the families they've helped on their website.
The route and event website is live at HighFiveTour.com, enabling supporters and media to attend the local events and get involved. The entire tour will be documented as Colonel Folsom stops in each capital city.
"Our High Five Tour will celebrate America's military families and their resiliency and strength when faced with adversity. We will 'high five' those Americans who lend their support to our mission to care for our military families," Folsom promised. Supporters can autograph the vinyl wrapped Shelby for a $5 contribution or donate $5 by texting "highfive" to 20222.
