Scottish company establishes first Pan Baltic Intellectual Property Company.
Online, September 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - CCB the Scottish/Baltic based business development and export consultancy has launched the first pan Baltic Intellectual Property business ( Baltic Intellectual Property Company )at the Annual Baltic Dynamics conference in Riga last week. The new business has developed a portal, which allows all universities, research institutes and other institutions to upload information on IP and research projects to a central database, which can be searched by companies around the world. Baltic IP has also formed partnerships with a range of other global IP promoters, and will utilise their sales channels to promote Baltic IP.
Speaking at the launch CCB Group MD Charles Cormack said "I am delighted that this project is finally launched to our university and research organisation partners, we have been working on it for a number of years, and working closely with partners to ensure that it will work for them, I believe the team based in Riga has done an excellent job, and I am looking forward to the next few months, when the IP will be uploaded, prior to our marketing launch later at the beginning of next year. We have been working in the Baltic for almost 10 years, and we have no doubt that there is high quality research, and exciting opportunities for commercialisation, however we also believe that IP needs to be marketed centrally if it is going to reach a global audience, and that is the reason we have created the Baltic Intellectual Property Company"
Baltic Intellectual Property Company Operations Director Agnese Grinevica said following the launch "We have had a very positive response to our plans from both local partners, and also international companies and organisations who visited the Baltic Dynamics event, we have also had interest from a number of key government agencies in both Latvia and Lithuania, and are excited at doing our part in developing commercialisation in the Baltic"
Professor Ian Hunt, from Edinburgh Napier University, who heads up the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre was a key note speaker at Baltic Dynamics visited the Baltic Intellectual Property Company stand and commented "It is great to see a Scottish company working hard to help unlock the potential that it is undoubtedly here, and in the process give Scottish companies the chance to support the process through offering services to Baltic Intellectual Property Company"
