Sandhills Race Series Announces 2014 Fall Series Calendar
Southern Pines, North Carolina, August 29, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Four years ago, buyCalls founder David Petsolt co-founded the Sandhills Race Series with Sallie Beth Johnson, Race Director for the Reindeer Fun Run. By creating the Sandhills Race Series, their mission was to encourage and recognize participation and performance in local racing and provide support to organizations coordinating running events that promote fun, fitness, and community causes.
Today, the Sandhills Race Series announced its fall calendar, kicking off the series in one week with the 1 in 8K in Pinehurst, NC, supporting breast cancer awareness, and ending with a bang—December’s beloved Reindeer Fun Run in Aberdeen, NC, which now welcomes more than 2,400 participants.
Every year, the Sandhills Race Series events bring out children, adults, Sandhills natives, and runners from all over the country. Even better? Often, on behalf of TeamGreen Charities, nearly all of the fees and donations go toward aiding organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of the Sandhills, the United Way, and more.
TeamGreen Charities, a supporter of the Sandhills Race Series, was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit charity with the mission of raising awareness and funds for area causes, as well as those national organizations that touch the Sandhills community.
"We're grateful and proud of the runners, volunteers, participants, and organizations that have aided the Sandhills Race Series in its many events," said co-founder David Petsolt. "We're looking forward to the fall 2014 season, and many more to come."
