Sam Riddle Sentencing set for May 26, 2010
Online, May 24, 2010 (Newswire.com) - PRESS RELEASE:
High profile political consultant Sam Riddle's Sentencing is scheduled for 9:00 am May 26th before the Honorable Gregory Bill in Detroit, MI. On May 5th a Jury found Riddle guilty of felonious assault and felony firearm against former State Representative Mary Waters. The felony firearm carries with it a two year mandatory state prison sentence.
Riddles attorney Mark Mandell believes that the Court is going to allow Riddle to serve his 2 year sentence for the felony firearm conviction concurrent with his recent federal guilty plea agreement. "Judge Bill had shown fairness through out this entire case I believe the Court is going to have Mr. Riddle's sentence run concurrent with his 37 month federal plea."
As you may recall prior to trial, Mary Waters repeatedly requested that this case be dismissed and that she didn't fear Riddle. Mandell stated "Mr. Riddle wants to close this chapter on Detroit scandals so that the City can move forward and focus on public safety, schools and jobs."
