Saint Paul-Based Distillery Brings Home Two Prestigious Medals

SAINT PAUL, Minn., April 3, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Studio Distilling, a Saint Paul-based small batch producer of authentically crafted whiskies, announced today that the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) awarded their Rye Malt Whiskey a Double Gold medal and their Bourbon Whiskey a Silver at this year’s annual competition.

Founded in 2000, the SFWSC was established as a way to recognize exceptional products in the spirits industry. Today, the organization has become one of the most respected and influential competitions in the world for judging spirits. This year's judges included James Beard award winners, nationally recognized bartenders and mixologists, food and spirits writers from across the U.S., and other notable professionals in the industry. And with more than 3,000 entries from around the world, this year marked the largest competition in SFWSC's history.

The Double Gold designation is awarded to the few entries that receive Gold medal ratings by all members of the judging panel. The competition defines these spirits among the finest products in the world.

Silver Medal - Studio Distilling Bourbon Whiskey

Products awarded a Silver medal are defined as "outstanding in their category." These products show refinement, finesse, and complexity. Winning Silver places Studio’s Bourbon Whiskey among the best examples of this particular category.
