Saint Harridan National Tour and Pop-Up Shop
Online, May 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Saint Harridan invites the public to its pop-up shop from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 13-15, 2014 at Hampton Inn located at 1301 Race St, Philadelphia, PA for excellent quality men's-style suits and dress shirts, made for women and transmen.
"Our mission isn't simply about clothing. It's about having access to garments that make you look like you." says Mary Going, social activist and founder of Saint Harridan. "Dress is a very personal form of activism. Sometimes it's risky. We want to make clothes that support this form of self-expression, this form of personal reverence, and yes - this form of activism." Featuring sleek masculine suits in Italian wool, Saint Harridan provides a stylish choice for gender non-conforming individuals to feel confident and look their best. These suits, ties and t-shirts are made in the United States and have been modeled by LGBTQ celebrities and activists Lea DeLaria and Kate Clinton.
Saint Harridan started in December 2012 when 1100 Kickstarter backers pre-purchased suits, shirts and various accessories totaling $137,000 in sales. The national pop-up shop tour began in August 2013, includes 15 cities and will continue until December 2014, creating change across the United States.
"In order not to be tossed about in this 'sea of constant change,' we are anchored by strong values. Ours are: imagination, innovation, diversity of perspective, sustainability and faith in the individual." Saint Harridan offers new ways of expression and empowerment by giving women, transgender men and other masculine-of-center individuals the choice to present themselves in more diverse ways.
