Saint Elizabeth Cancer Institute Holds Fundraiser, Elvis in Pink, to Fight Against Breast Cancer
Online, October 6, 2010 (Newswire.com) - We have made great strides in fighting breast cancer over the last ten years; but, in 2010 over 200,000 people in the United States will be newly diagnosed with the disease, and 40,000 people will die from breast cancer according to the National Cancer Institute. Considering these statistics, we must continue a vigilant fight against the disease.
"It is more important than ever to continue to fight against breast cancer," says Mary Trauernicht, director of medical and oncology services at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center. "In Nebraska, nearly 1,200 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and 210 will die from the disease."
The Saint Elizabeth Cancer Institute has partnered with the Venue and the Rococo Theatre to host a fundraiser - Elvis in Pink - on October 27 to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. All proceeds from the event will go to the Saint Elizabeth Foundation to support breast cancer awareness and education in southeast Nebraska.
Please join us on Wednesday, October 27 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at the Rococo Theatre. Serese Cole, 10/11 news anchor, will talk about the importance of breast cancer awareness, and Elvis, Joseph Hall, who was in the top ten on America's Got Talent in 2008, will perform.
Guests will enjoy delicious appetizers from the Venue and have the opportunity to win door prizes. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling Saint Elizabeth TLC at 402.219.7000.
