Chicago, Illinois, October 9, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Safeguard Self Storage has announced the purchase, on October 2, 2014, of a land parcel to build a self-storage facility on North Clybourn Avenue in Chicago. The store will be the 73rd store for the company nationally when completed and the 13th store in the Chicago area. Two other stores in the West Rogers Park and Uptown neighborhoods, will be the company’s 11th and 12th stores in Chicago and are presently under construction.
“The Chicago area is a great market for Safeguard and will provide the company with the opportunity to increase its critical mass in this city,” says Allan Sweet, Safeguard Chief Executive Officer. “We consider our growth in Chicago as an important next step for the company.”
The 68,000 square-foot facility will provide 880 storage units in various sizes. Amenities at this location will include heating/air conditioning, drive-up loading area, computer-controlled building access and digital/video recording of the property. The facade of the store has been modified and upgraded to blend into the surrounding neighborhood.
