PHILADELPHIA, May 3, 2018 (Newswire.com) - United World Sports, the owner and operator of the largest annual rugby events in the United States, announced today that Dunkin' Donuts of Greater Philadelphia is the presenting sponsor of "Rugger Fest Powered by Dunkin' Donuts" on the grounds outside suburban Philly's Talen Energy Stadium during the 2018 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship Friday, June 1, through Sunday, June 3.
Dunkin' Donuts' presenting sponsorship features the first-ever "Munchkin Rugby" coaching and demonstration area, featuring instruction for children in the sport of rugby by USA Rugby's Rookie Rugby program.
United Worlds Sports has done an outstanding job giving the Olympic sport of Rugby Sevens such a strong presence in Philadelphia over the past eight years. The Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship brings over 30,000 players, coaches, family and friends from around the United States to Talen Energy Stadium and the City of Philadelphia, and Dunkin' is proud to be a part of the celebration for the second consecutive year as a Presenting Sponsor.

In addition, Dunkin' Donuts will bring its Community Cruiser and a team of brand ambassadors, offering fans in attendance at the 2018 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship free samples of Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee. There will also be a Dunkin' Prize Wheel and giveaways, as well as on-site activation highlighting the Dunkin' Mobile App and DD Perks® rewards program.
Dunkin' Donuts will also have signage throughout the event, as well as in-stadium video messages. In addition, United World Sports is partnering with Dunkin' Donuts of Greater Philadelphia in pre-event messaging and advertising, including in-store promotions and ticket offers.
Beginning Wednesday, May 30, Dunkin' Donuts will also have "Welcome to Philadelphia" messages through its digital transit network for the teams, families, alumni and friends visiting Philadelphia for the 2018 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship that week. The messages will be seen throughout the City of Philadelphia.

The inaugural "Rugger Fest Powered by Dunkin' Donuts" will also feature local food and beverage specialty vendors, shops and activities for fans and families, as well as two full days of a music festival featuring bands from Philadelphia's Let There Be Rock School.
The 2018 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship will mark the eighth consecutive year that the event has been held in Philadelphia and at Talen Energy Stadium, bringing national and International attention to the region through the live broadcasts on the networks of ESPN.
The three-day rugby event is one of the largest gatherings of collegiate and high school rugby teams in the world. Penn Mutual is in the fourth year of a title sponsorship for the event, and over 30,000 fans are expected for this year's championship tournaments.
The annual event features the nation's top 24 men's collegiate rugby 7s teams and the top 16 women's college teams and includes a regional competition with a six-team field vying for a spot in next year's main bracket; the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) national championship; as well as a national high school tournament with both boys' and girls' teams.
The interest in Rugby Sevens (also known as Sevens Rugby) continues to grow after the return to the Olympic Games in 2016, following a 92-year hiatus. The Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship is America's national sevens championship and serves as the centerpiece of a nationwide effort to build American rugby talent for competition on the international stage. Over the past eight years, the event has produced over 30 players who have gone on to play for the U.S. National teams.
