Rose Walker Law Firm Expanding to Colorado with Noted Durango Attorney Duke Eggleston
Online, May 3, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The national trial and business law firm Rose•Walker, L.L.P. is expanding its practice with the opening of a new office in Durango, Colo.
The office, which will serve Durango, Pagosa Springs and the Four Corners area - comprised of portions of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah - is headed by prominent local attorney Duke Eggleston. Mr. Eggleston is the former in house General Counsel/Senior Vice President of Durango Mountain Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort, and he continues to serve those organizations as their outside general counsel.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have an attorney of Duke's caliber onboard," says Rose•Walker Founding Partner Marty Rose. "Businesses in the Four Corners know him and appreciate the sophisticated legal services he provides. Having him here is a great opportunity for all our clients to benefit by the increased scope of our firm, both in terms of geography and practice areas."
"What this means is that businesses in the Four Corners can receive the highest-quality legal representation without having to go to New York or San Francisco. And they can turn to one law firm for both business and litigation," Mr. Rose says.
Duke's years of prior experience in the ski resort and real estate development industry include handling/supervising both transactional and litigation issues related to construction, lodging, property management, real estate, utilities, transportation, contractual agreements/disputes, and complex corporate governance. In addition to its traditional litigation services, Rose•Walker's expanded practice will now involve providing outside general counsel and transactional services in the real estate, resort, construction, finance, energy, hospitality, regulatory, and mergers and acquisitions areas.
Most recently, Mr. Eggleston was the lead attorney and a principal negotiator for the sale of Kirkwood Mountain Resort to Vail Resorts, as well as for a multi-resort real estate development joint venture resulting in the construction of the new $35.5 Million Base Lodge and Condominium Project at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort.
Mr. Eggleston earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was Associate Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gilbert S. Merritt, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, 1993-1994, and to the Honorable Jose A. Gonzalez, Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, 1991-1993.
