Roller Derby Returns To TV
Online, March 31, 2013 (Newswire.com) - David Simpson's Digital Media Group announced today that Jim Fitzpatrick's San Francisco Bay Bombers of the American Roller Skating Derby league are returning to weekly televison. Several months ago Simpson entered into an agreement with the team and league to once again not only return professional, banked track Roller Derby to television but to restore the sport to national prominence. KQSL TV San Francisco/Ft Bragg and KOTR My 11 (Central Coast)are the first two stations to start airing Bomber games on a weekly basis. Simpson stated more stations, across the country, will be announced in the near future as they come on board.
All of this could not have come at a better time. The 2013 home season opener is less than two weeks away when Ice Box's wild and dangerous Los Angeles FireBirds will roll into San Francisco to battle with the Bay Bombers. In recent years this has turned into quite a heated rivalry with bad blood boiling over. The game will take place at historic Kezar Pavilion, the long time home of the Bombers. The venue, built in 1924, is located by beautiful Golden Gate Park. For years Bomber games were filmed there and syndicated all over the country to over 150 channels. The night of the season opener Digital Media will be on hand filming the game for future airing. All the fast and furious action will take place on Saturday night, April 13th at 8 pm.
Acting legend, martial arts expert and member of the wrestling Hall of Fame, Hank Garrett, will be on hand signing autographs.
