Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr is proud to announce that two of his images have won awards at the Professional Photographers of America's (PPA) International Print Competition. The two winning photographs were "River of Silence" and "A Mammoth Sunset."

The PPA is the world's largest association for professional photographers. The PPA's International Print Competition celebrates superior photographic achievement. Rodney is a frequent winner of these awards, having won twenty-four awards total in this competition over only five years. No one wins more awards per image entered than Rodney Lough Jr.

These PPA awards join a slew of prestigious honors Rodney has won in 2010. These include a commendation from the United States Senate, a U.S. Green Building Council Gold Leadership Award in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the green construction of his Las Vegas gallery and a Gold Ink Awards Certificate of Excellence for his Beyond the Trail Book.

The first winning image from this year is "River of Silence." It depicts an incredibly peaceful fog-bound river at dawn in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Of it, Rodney says, "Standing alongside the river just as dawn awoke the landscape around me, there was a silence and peace that to this day I am hard pressed to describe to anyone else."

The second winning image is "A Mammoth Sunset," of a beautiful sunset over Yellowstone National Park. Rodney says of the image "It's rare that I ever run out of film while shooting a scene. This though, was the sunset that just wouldn't stop - it kept coming and coming and coming."
