Robert Treat Hotel's Dr. Julia Bogan Greets Guests with a Smile and a Song
Suite 203, December 1, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Julia Bogan takes care of people in need, even if that need sometimes is just a morning cup of coffee. A Newark resident of 50 years, Bogan wears many hats – one of which is serving as one of the staff members who operates the guest lounge at the Best Western Robert Treat Hotel.
Bogan also is an ordained minister who currently serves as pastor at the Spiritual Way Missionary Church in Newark, serves as chaplain at the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center, and actively supports community outreach within the Newark community. She joined the Robert Treat team in 1995. And despite her busy schedule, she lives by the motto “too blessed to be stressed.”
"Dr. Bogan is an incredibly positive, caring person - we are fortunate to call her part of the Robert Treat team. We strive to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests, and she is a great advocate of that mission."
Miles Berger, Chairman & CEO, The Berger Organization
For guests at the hotel, who are always greeted with a smile and often with a song, Bogan is a memorable part of their stay. “People feel love when they walk into the guest lounge,” she said. “My parents taught us to make sure you show love, and you get love back. I have found that to be so true. I enjoy meeting people and making them feel like they are home when they are here.”
“Dr. Bogan is an incredibly positive, caring person – we are fortunate to call her part of the Robert Treat team,” noted Miles Berger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Berger Organization, which owns the hotel. “We strive to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests, and she is a great advocate of that mission. Dr. Bogan’s energy and enthusiasm is an inspiration to everyone around her.”
Bogan’s generosity extends deeply into the Newark community. She and members of her parish monthly provide school supplies, food and clothing for less fortunate city residents. She, herself, frequently places containers of food on her front porch in a gesture of giving. Previously, Bogan served as recreation director at the Salvation Army, where she and her husband for many years ran a late-night basketball program for Newark youth. She also worked at Clara Maass Medical Center Belleville, New Jersey.
Bogan is a proud mother of three, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of two. She earned her Doctor of Divinity Degree from Tricounty College in Maston, North Carolina, and was ordained in 1992.
