Road Trip Takes a Turn for the Worse in New Comedy Short "Recalculating"

A night out for two friends takes an unexpected turn when the GPS goes haywire.

“Recalculating,” the short film about two stoners and their malfunctioning GPS, has finished shooting and is in post production. The seven minute comedy stars Zack Pearlman (The Intern), Peter Gilroy (The Wedding Ringer), Brina Palencia (Borderlands) and Academy Award winner, Cloris Leachman.

“From the moment the idea hit me to casting to shooting to sound mixing, everyone involved has enthusiastically come onboard to make this short the best it can be,” says director, Diane Fredel- Weis. “We’re looking forward to getting “Recalculating” into film festivals and then finding a home for it online.”

Fredel-Weis’ Laugh More Entertainment worked with Revek Entertainment (producer of the Sundance Film Festival winning short, Whiplash) to shoot the short over two nights in Los Angeles.

Before venturing into directing, Fredel-Weis wrote the indie feature, “Inconceivable,” that aired on Showtime and was a creative marketing executive with The Walt Disney Company. She also produced content for SnagFilms, Steven Spielberg and The Disney Channel.
