Right2Breathe® to Offer Free Asthma Screenings During NHRA Dodge Nationals

MOHNTON, Penn., September 17, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Right2Breathe® Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in Flemington, New Jersey is proud to announce a partnership with Allergy & Asthma Network to provide free spirometry exams, educational materials and screenings for Asthma during the second event of NHRA's Countdown to the Championship, the NHRA Dodge Nationals. The event will be contested at Maple Grove Raceway Sept. 21^st through the 24^th.

This is the second NHRA Free Asthma Screening Event hosted by Right2Breathe® in 2017.  Earlier this year, the Right2Breathe® Free Asthma Screening program; which is funded by a grant provided by Novartis®, successfully completed more than 450 free Spirometry lung-function exams during the sold-out NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. Right2Breathe® co-founders Joe Morrison and Tim Charlet; second-generation drag racers themselves are expecting to duplicate those numbers by inviting fans, race team members, and vendors to "Put their Lungs on the Dyno" during the second race of the exclusive NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoff series.

As fall and winter approach, more people in the Eastern U.S. will be activating their heaters at home or in the office. This is a perfect opportunity to educate the NHRA fans, racers and crew members about respiratory conditions that can be triggered by pollen, molds, and spores that are typically trapped in HVAC system filters or cabin filters inside their cars.

Asthma is a long-term (chronic) lung disease that causes episodes of coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Like all chronic illnesses, asthma cannot be cured, but it is very manageable; especially once a patient is correctly diagnosed. Several genetic and environmental factors such as family history, exposure to secondhand smoke, and environmental irritants have all been identified as risk factors for asthma.

One of the first steps in beginning the treatment of Asthma is completing a non-invasive and simple spirometry exam, which will be administered by professional Respiratory Therapists and other medical professionals in the Right2Breathe® Screening area located in the manufacturers midway, Friday through Sunday during the event. An estimated 17.7 million adults and 6.3 million children in the United States live with Asthma.

The Right2Breathe® Project will be set up in the vendor's midway, located on the professional pit side of Maple Grove Raceway. Fans are encouraged to stop by the Right2Breathe® display in the midway to sign up for free daily raffles and prizes, and receive educational materials not only about Asthma and other respiratory diseases but also how allergies can also impact respiratory health. The Right2Breathe® Screening area will be open Friday from noon until 5 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday 9:30 a.m. till 3 p.m.

Maple Grove Raceway has a long history of record performances, including the first side-by-side quarter-mile four-second and 300-mph Top Fuel passes, and the cool October climates continue to offer more of the same. The event is the middle race of three consecutive events to begin the Countdown to the Championship.
