Online, February 12, 2013 (Newswire.com) - On Monday, the National Weather Service damage survey team in Jackson, Mississippi confirmed that a long-tracked EF-4 tornado touched down in Lamar and Forrest counties Sunday afternoon/evening. Extensive EF-4 tornado damage with winds of 170 mph was observed from Oak Grove in Lamar County to Hattiesburg in Forrest County. Damage includes at least 300 damaged homes/buildings (including 200 homes/mobile homes and 100 apartments), a number of destroyed property, a destroyed barn, and numerous of powerlines and trees down. Nearly 100 roads were blocked or covered with debris.
